Montesano Extremadura 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham once again receives the highest award, the Three Star Taste Award, from the International Taste Institute in Brussels in 2023

The well-known family-run Iberian ham company could win the Diamond Award, which is awarded after winning the triple star 7 times, if it repeats the award next year. This new award, given by a panel of chefs and sommeliers of the highest international level, consolidates Montesano Extremadura in the emporium of the best acorn-fed Iberian hams in the world. This is how they defined the piece in Brussels: “Delicious natural flavour and lots of fragrance. Sweet, smooth with pleasant floral notes and hints of spices. Elegant and exquisite flavour that is truly impressive.”

With this, six years of achieving the three-star Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute of Brussels, and the grand prize Prestige Crystal 2021, they place the 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham from the well-known family business Montesano Extremadura at the pinnacle of the best hams in the world. With the added bonus that, if in 2024 it again achieves the maximum score of three stars, it will receive the world's top award: The Diamond Award, "the best of the best", as pointed out by the Institute itself.

With this new award of the highest organoleptic standards, awarded by a jury made up of 200 chefs and sommeliers from all over Europe (including El Bulli sommelier Ferran Centelles) from among more than 2,000 strictly evaluated products, 100% Iberian Montesano Extremadura ham is consolidated as one of the best gastronomic products on the planet. An extraordinary score With a very high overall rating of 94.9 (97.3 for flavour) , the jury has described the 100% Iberian Montesano Extremadura ham in recent editions with the following comments:

-General comment: “An excellent product , with a delicious flavour and high juiciness. An impressive product that shows fine craftsmanship and a beautiful infiltration. Elegant, with a wonderful structure and fantastic aroma.”
